“Viruses-R-Us” featuring 30+ years of Brand+Aid work for HIV/AIDS.
After 30+ years of life in the HIV lane,
we’re taking on COVID-19.
First, some good news: A recent article in the Washington Post revealed that DC is on track to nearly eliminate the HIV pandemic — defined as less than 1% of the population being infected. New cases have dropped to 1984 levels, 90% of whom know their HIV status, with 80% in treatment and 87% virally suppressed.

Brand+Aid Creative is honored to have created dozens of HIV/AIDS public-health campaigns since 1986, during the darkest days of the disease. From tiny pro-bono awareness PSAs for clients like the American Red Cross, HERO, Maryland Dept. of Health and Whitman-Walker Health, to regional campaigns such as AIDS WALK “Face The Facts. Walk The Walk.” and The Walk To End HIV. Nationally, we created and produced from scratch two major CDC HIV/AIDS campaigns, “Start Talking. Stop HIV.” aimed at gay men, and “HIV Treatment Works.” aimed at people living with HIV (PLWH).
Now, with a new and historic-for-all-the-wrong-reasons global pandemic killing millions and infecting hundreds of millions, Brand+Aid is waging war on another virus. Like with the coronavirus, the early days of HIV/AIDS were marked with fear, confusion and mis- and disinformation. We developed hundreds of awareness tactics to help solve those challenges.
As with HIV/AIDS also, COVID-19 tragically and disproportionately ravages our Black and Brown communities, and our elderly and vulnerable populations (such as people living with HIV). Brand+Aid is a specialist at — and passionate about — addressing those audiences.
If you’re developing a new COVID organization, creating a COVID initiative or outreach campaign at your .org or company, or planning a .gov education effort for your agency or association, we’re ready to hit the ground running. Brand+Aid not only develops strategic/creative work for our own clients but project assignments for large PR firms & ad agencies, subcontractors for government agencies & NGOs, and in-house design & marketing teams.
We’ve crushed more than a few nasty bugs in our time. We’re at the ready to squash this one.
