Family Mediation Newcastle provides family mediation across Newcastle upon Tyne, from Jesmond and Gosforth to Heaton and the wider Tyne and Wear area. The branch is part of Mediate UK, an established service running since 2011 and rated five stars by more than 712 families. We help couples and parents who are separating or divorcing to resolve disagreements about their children and their finances without going to court. The first step is a MIAM, an individual meeting that explains your options and is normally required before a family court application. Our mediators, all accredited by the Family Mediation Council, then support you through child arrangements mediation, financial and property mediation, or all-issues mediation that deals with everything at once. We offer appointments in person at Shieldfield, online across the North East, and by shuttle for higher-conflict situations where separate rooms are safer. Whatever you decide can be set out in a parenting plan or made legally binding with a consent order. Around 90% of the families we work with reach agreement, usually within a few weeks, and legal aid is available for those who qualify.
