Meet our Founder & Principal, Sia Goutzas “Teaching is something I truly enjoy. Seeing the expression on my student’s face once they have understood a new concept is rewarding and motivating for us both”. Beginning her teaching journey in a school classroom, Sia Goutzas quickly realised that each student learns differently and at their own pace. Motivated by this insight, she founded Maths Words not Squiggles (MWNS) in 2003, with the goal of offering personalised lessons that cater to individual learning styles and speeds. Sia has successfully combined the insights gained from her Bachelor of Education Degree (USYD) with her hands-on experience in both public and private school classrooms, alongside her deep passion for empowering students. This unique blend allows her to create a safe and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, exploring new ideas, and discovering their own possibilities – all while building confidence and achieving their personal best.
